Acoustic leak detection
The Permalog 3 is the latest in a highly successful line of permanent and portable acoustic leak loggers. The battery powered logger simply sits on the mains water pipe via magnetic force and periodically sends a "no leak" health message via an embedded RF module, or an instantaneous alarm in the case of leak detected.
Debriefing the logger is simple either via a "drive by" method or a "fixed" cellular communications network. The Permalog 3 has an enhanced radio range compared to other noise loggers currently on the market thanks to our VHF high power embedded radios, which in turn allow for faster drive by patrols and less hardware requirements within a fixed comms network.
For manual inspection the logger has an integrated LED which flashes red to indicate a leak and flashes green to indicate a "no-leak" status. Data can be downloaded with the Permalog 3 interrogator "cowl" using high power infrared communications. The data transmissions of the loggers can also be remotely programmed by the operator for data analysis or battery autonomy reasons.
