Global Net is the name given to our new Integrated Asset Management and Billing System that we launched back in April 2006. Global Net is the result of decades of man year's investment in hardware, firmware and web application software.
The system is all embracing and is intended to complete the missing part of the data delivery chain, creating a 100% seamless path from the asset in the field to the delivery of data to your chosen destination.
As we stated earlier, if it can be seen, sensed or touched we can monitor it and retrieve the data. Global Net as its name implies is akin to a spider's web in which data is captured and sent to the centre web via a number parallel threads, what we call "data conduits". These data conduits include low power radio, licensed radio, SMS text, GSM, GPRS, PSTN, LAN, e-mail, FTP, HTTP and even manual data entry.
Data can be simply archived or automatically delivered back to you the customer via what we call "portholes". These can be via the Internet using a simple browser; data can also be automatically delivered in files to your server using a web protocol such as FTP or encapsulated in e-mails. As in the case of our award winning RTM Rail Temperature Monitoring System, alarm messages can be generated and sent by SMS text and you can also request data via SMS text. In fact there is no particular limit to how data is accessed and pre-processed, however as security is paramount data is mirrored on parallel servers and protected by layers of firewalls and tiered passwords.
Global Net is a subscription service - it is either funded on a cost per asset connected or a cost per data message delivered. However, there is no hard and fast rule and flexibility is built into the system to permit other finance strategies.
Global Net is your complete web based asset monitoring tool, allowing you full visibility, traceability and peace of mind when it comes to the status, security and performance of your assets in the field.
It is a fully dedicated multi platform, multi parameter secure network for all your asset monitoring needs, as long as you have access to a web browser, an email account or a GSM mobile phone then you are always in touch with your assets and business.
How Does it Work?...
The hub of the Global Net communication infrastructure is a bank of secure servers, allowing for an unlimited amount of accounts with data entry via (GSM, SMS, GPRS, FTP, PPP and HTTP), and out-going alarms in the form of SMS text message, email or HTTP.
The web based primary monitoring user interface is both username and password protected (see screen shot below) and all other interfaces including mobile phones or email accounts are all strictly on a registration basis.
